I wanted to make my character an engineer who was born on the ship, raised on the ship, grew up on the ship, loves the ship. Is this still possible now that the concept of the cryo sleep in 4-year shifts had been introduced? or do I need to give him an off ship origin?

Also, is everyone frozen? people who are injured or with fragile health or pregnant ladies? I mean are there any sorts of people who are ineligible for cryo?

Sadly, he needs an off-ship origin. (I made sure to post information about the updated plot on all boards.)

He can still love the ship because it now stands for peace, freedom, etc.

Due to advances in cryogenics all people and animals are allowed to be safely put into a cryo bed.
