The People's Republic of Titan (PRT), created by Veridius Santhorn in 2377, started out in Titan as of government by the people for the people. It was a well organized and well maintained communist government that united the people of Titan to help bring them out of their major deficit (96% of the population of Titan was far below the poverty line.) Colonists would work at jobs that they liked doing that also benefited the other colonists. And since almost everyone was absorbed into the working class the average standard of living increased greatly.
Within five years the economy on Titan was doing so well that the other colonies on the moons of Saturn asked to be a part of PRT. These colonies were officially under the rule of PRT in 2382.
However, in 2384 Santhorn had a severe heart attack and died. Santhorn was succeeded by his nephew Valdr Hawth. Within three months Hawth had turned PRT into a military dictatorship. Civilians were forced to either join the military or work in the fields, to provide food for the military.
In 2389 PRT launched an invasion against the other colonies in the outer planets (excluding the colonies on Jupiter's moons, for USSC had several military outposts around Jupiter.) In 2405 PRT had absorbed all of the colonies they had invaded. Many of these colonists were given the option to either work in the factories, making weapons and ships for PRT, to work the fields, or to join the army.
PRT was planning to invade Jupiter when, in 2415, USSC moved to invade the Saturn colonies. PRT was caught off guard and had to quickly reformat their strategy to fight off USSC. While the PRT had moved USSC forces out of Saturn's orbit they were unable to shut them down.
